Unleashed

Since I was a little girl, my calling was always to help anyone in need. There can be a room full of people, and without a doubt, my eyes gravitate towards someone in need of help. It is that desire that led me to help as many people as possible through missionary work, volunteering, and dedicating my life to serving the poor. I had a dream that one day I could travel to other countries just like Mother Teresa of Kolkata and help the sick and dying.

The day I landed in Kolkata to make my dreams come true, I realized nothing could make me happier than serving the sick, dying, and the poor. It is that dream that has walked me down the journey of doing whatever I can to help the poor.

It was my trip to Haiti on a medical mission trip last year that changed me. This was where I witnessed the power of medical aid to the sick and dying. A very young man was carried for hours to the tallest mountain in Haiti to receive free medical aid at the clinic. They brought him into the church which served as the waiting room for the thousands of patients who came. For some of them it took days and long hours of walking through treacherous terrain to the top of the highest mountain in Haiti. This young man was 22 years old and had no mother or father but a loving uncle who carried him all the way to the clinic wrapped in a white linen sheet. I was told that when he was placed on top of a bench to lie down and wait his turn, the patients covered their mouths because of the decaying smell that surfaced as a result of his wounds. You might be asking if he was in a lot of pain. The answer was yes! He was in excruciating pain, and you know what, he was still smiling!

The young man died a few days later. Not from the painful disease he had, but from the fact that his body could not fight the disease because of lack of nourishment. His name was Darius, and he believed he had a second chance at life when he came to the Medical Clinic, but it was a short-lived dream.

It is that experience that has inspired me to launch this website and work towards solutions to help impoverished communities worldwide. Sometimes in life, it is not about the most you can do in life, but the least you can do to change someone’s life. God has sent us here as change agents to change the world one heart at a time. Change your world temporarily and change your life. We are called to do what we can and, in our own way, carry the gifts through our works one day at a time.

I can’t stand by and watch another Darius die. I have a dream to launch this website, and like any good endeavor, I am prepared to see it through the ups and downs. Because this is a force greater than me, and I will not rest until it is done. And that is only the beginning of my mission. Like any good idea, all the pieces don’t come together at first. But look out world, we are coming to feed your kids, and we will no longer stand back and watch you suffer because you have no food, no means to feed your starving children, and we are coming for you. Who will stand with me and face up to this challenge today?

No More Excuses

Success without fulfillment is the ultimate failure. We chase down ideas of what we think might make us happy, like the ultimate job, home, or marriage. These ideas bring us choices like what to believe, what to do, and what to buy. Maybe you are like me and find yourself asking why there is still a void in your life even after all these choices you made to make yourself potentially happy.

You can end that by making another decision and follow your passion like me. I have chosen to make others happy by devoting my life to alleviating the suffering of others. I will not stand by from a comfortable distance and watch another child suffer from starvation, malnutrition, and lack of basic needs.

Lulubelle Cares has been established to help children and their families receive a second chance at life. We are committed to creating lasting change. We will expand raising awareness towards the causes for the poorest of the poor. We are committed to helping volunteers find success and fulfillment through service work to the unwanted, unloved, and forgotten. What are some gifts that you could utilize to help serve the poor today?

Every day is an emergency for a family that is struggling to survive due to a lack of food, water, and shelter. It is a race for them to survive, and together we can provide them with food, hope, and love.

The list of good works enabled by your generosity goes on and on. Your prayers and sacrifices will make a real difference in the lives of real people who struggle to survive. Will you help today?

I don’t proclaim to be an expert in all of this, but I have dedicated my life in service of the poorest communities worldwide. Do you want to help Lulubelle Cares today?

I believe in a big way that this world needs life support through people who care for the poorest of the poor. I have asked myself for years, “what am I going to do about it?” Maybe you feel the same way?

Honestly, there is so much need in other countries and domestically that I can’t sleep because it hurts so bad. My destiny is tied to helping others, and that is why God created me.

We at Lulubelle Cares, strive to facilitate change in the communities we serve. We bring the love of God into their homes through acts of kindness, just like Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

Will you join us on our mission to create lasting changes in the poorest communities worldwide?

Do You Care

To most people in the world, Haiti is non-existent. You may not even know they are going through the worst crisis they have ever had. You may not have heard what is currently happening in Haiti, but I have. They are living in the worst conditions possible, and most parts of the world don’t even know about Haiti’s problems, or they just don’t care. Many parts of the country are in a state of chaos. Basic food items (rice, beans, cooking oil, etc.) have risen dramatically in price and are rising daily. In some cases, just to find rice in a Haitian market is not only scarce, but it comes with a 100% higher cost than before.

One of the greatest problems across Haiti is widespread hunger and starvation. It is worse now than it has ever been. The people who are the poorest of the poor have no way to make money, so they have no food at all. Haiti needs help right now! The children are living in garbage dumps and high up in the mountains. All over Haiti, life every day is in a state of emergency. No food and no means to make money. It is often left to the older children to care for their younger siblings while their parents leave to go find food. Sorrow is knowing that an older brother or sister, often as young as five years old, experiences starvation EVERY DAY. They must endure the constant crying of their younger siblings because they are HUNGRY. You may not know that when the children see their parents return home without food, they cry worse. This moves me to action! I cannot sleep or eat, knowing there must be something I can do.

It is a sacrifice to care indeed. But I am willing to go the extra mile because if left unaided, these Haitian children and their families will die. Goodness, kindness, and faithfulness require that I do something. Will you do something to help today?

You remind yourself that our goal is abundant life, but their goal is survival. Our ways are not their ways. But that goodness and kindness in our hearts can guide us to provide food for those starving children. It is very powerful when you make a donation to help the most vulnerable children of this world. We make appointments in our appointment books every day, so here is an opportunity to schedule an appointment with giving. It takes courage to help, especially when you may be broken, but it will mend you. When you are hungry, your help will fill you. When you face a trial, your giving will fuel you to victory. When you face loss, your giving will provide for you. Maybe when you roll over at night from not sleeping because of all the problems that are going over and over in your mind or the tears that fall from your eyes, remember that because you cared, your problem will not seem insurmountable.

I hope when you read this, your life will be transformed by your giving. You will be adopted to a family of glory in the sharing of your richness. This is how you will really know your bigness. The good news is that if you care, you will help save a life no matter how large the number of starving children there are. Your demonstration that you care will not be lost and will go to feed a starving child.  Will you care today??? Maybe today, you will not be lost in the shuffle of the crowd of life because you cared.

Impact a Life in Kolkata, India

Friends, have you ever given any thought to what your purpose is in life?  My next question is how far will you go to find your purpose in life?  Maybe you have thought about going to college or enrolling in a trade school.  The possibilities and options are so great that sometimes we have no idea how to pick our careers.

Maybe you are like me and God has called you to live a life well spent helping the poor. Have you ever gone to visit the poor in another country or just down the street? These days you will find many families living in poverty and homeless in your own neighborhood.

I do not know what you have been told about helping the poor. I hear people all the time say that you cannot save them.  Their own mental illness, addiction’s and choices have led them to living on the streets.  All of these are correct.  Humanitarian aid and relief is not about proving if we can change them forever.  In my experience helping the poor and homeless is about saving their lives.  I have seen the power of compassion change hearts.  Sometimes when we provide the poor and homeless with food and love that experience leads to hope.

It would be too difficult to write about all the homes, communities, and orphanages that I have visited around the world.  What I can tell you is that every place has one thing in common and they are all desperate for finding hope.

HERE IS WHAT WE DO:
Sometimes I like to imagine what I would do if I lived in their situation.  My compassion and desire to help the poor can overshadow their need for someone to hear their story.  Lulubelle Cares was established so that we could develop strategic plans on how to help the poor and you can help too.  It is our goal to help you experience from a distance what it feels like to help the poor.  It is not uncommon to hear someone say, “where does my donation go and how much of it is being used to ultimately help the poor.”  Lulubelle Cares was also established so that we could share the stories behind your donations.  I can tell you from experience that your donation does matter.

My friends, remember that those living in poverty especially in other countries do not have the luxury of wondering whether disease or hunger will take them first.  Every donated meal and all the assistance we provide through Lulubelle Cares is a matter of life or death to them.  Sure, you might be wondering if this is true and believe me it is. Most of the people we have helped did not choose to live the way they do.  Your donation and compassion are providing hope for the future of this world.

HERE IS WHAT WE HAVE DONE (June 2017):
On a trip to Kolkata India as a missionary we worked in the homes of Mother Teresa’s Missionary of Charity.  We also worked doing community outreach and made home visits to the poor.

On this one occasion we brought food, friendship and a tarp to a woman living on the streets with her children.  I found out quickly that living on the streets of Kolkata was not uncommon.  You immediately find yourself trying not to step on anyone laying on the sidewalk asleep.  Honestly, we have more power than we think to help heal and encourage the lives of the poor. Our gifts and compassion are crucial.  This is also about changing hearts and lives. Our small offering of food and a tarp meant that they did not have to go beg for food that day. The tarp would help prevent damage to their belongings from the elements.  Our goal that day was to provide one act of kindness that would result in a plan for finding a more permanent home and an answer to their homelessness.

HERE IS WHAT WE WILL DO:
On our next trip to Kolkata India we will explore strategic plans how Lulubelle Cares can help the missionaries living in India feed the poor living on the streets.  These small acts of kindness that Mother Teresa did everyday serve to provide love, hope and compassion to the poor and that is our goal. I realized after going to India and working with the Missionaries of Charity that this act of charity is not about taking them off the streets permanently.  We are saving lives that if gone unnoticed will perish from starvation, disease or crime.

HERE ARE OUR GOALS FOR OUR MISSION TRIPS:
Each trip has a different goal, but the mission is the same, to save starving children and their families.  We aim to save as many lives as possible from starvation and disease.  We aim to partner with local outreach organizations to provide solutions for helping the poor and advance the opportunities for the future generations to find hope.

PLEASE DONATE TO LULUBELLE CARES TODAY:
I am asking for something so big and I am believing that this world will not let another child die of starvation.  Let us show these children we can help and motivate them to follow their dreams.  Show them that the world has not given up on them.  You can help a child survive starvation.  Will you be a miracle and show a starving child that all things are possible:  donate to LulubelleCares.org

Scraps – Kolkata, India

Dear friends, there has never been a better time than today to take inventory of your life.  Have you taken enough chances to go after the things in life that make you happy?  Have you pursued enough opportunities to get out of your comfort zone?  Maybe you are chasing after your dreams and challenging yourself to take big risks like me. Seven years ago, I moved out of my comfort zone to start doing humanitarian aid & relief work.

My friends, several years back I took my first trip to Kolkata, India to go work with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity.  Since I was a little girl it was my dream to meet Mother Teresa and work as her assistant.  There is nothing that could make me happier than being able to work with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity.

I was not prepared for the level of poverty I witnessed on that trip.  There is nothing that could have prepared my senses for the disease, starvation and odors of the slums.  Seeing the hunger in their eyes developed a hunger in me to continue helping them. I was already making plans on returning as soon possible even before my trip ended. Their struggles were life threatening, however, I still met many families who had joy in their life despite having every reason to complain and feel desperate.

HERE IS WHAT WE DO:
Sometimes I like to imagine what I would do if I lived in their situation.  My compassion and desire to help the poor can overshadow the need for someone to hear their story.  Lulubelle Cares was established so that we could develop strategic plans on how to help the poor and you can help too.  It is our goal to help you experience what it feels like to help the poor from a distance.  It is not uncommon to hear someone say, “where does my donation go and how much of it is being used to ultimately help the poor.”  Lulubelle Cares was also established so that we could share the stories behind your donations.  I can tell you from experience that your donation does matter.

HERE IS WHAT WE HAVE DONE (June 2017):
On a trip to Kolkata India with a group of missionaries we had the opportunity to work with Mother Teresa’s Missionary of Charity.  We worked in the home for the sick and dying.

On this trip we participated in feeding, cleaning and spending time with the women who lived in the home. The Sisters who had been assigned to this location told us stories of how these women ended up there.  One of my favorite stories is when I met an elderly woman who was picked up by the Sisters at the airport.  No one knew who left her there.  A concerned citizen let the Sisters know she had been there for days.  This meant she had no food, water or sleep for many days.  Someone just discarded her like trash.  The sisters have a strategic way of going out in their bus almost every afternoon and picking up the poor like this woman. I have learned so many things in this work. One of them is that I have choices whether to allow this woman’s story to negatively affect me or help her with my own love and compassion.  I believe JESUS chose this work for me because he knows that I have the heart for helping the poor.

HERE IS WHAT WE WILL DO:
On our next trip to Kolkata India we will explore strategic plans on how Lulubelle Cares can help the missionaries currently living in India.  We will help them feed the poor living on the streets and in the homes of Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity.  These small acts of kindness that Mother Teresa did everyday served to provide love, hope and compassion to the poor and that is our goal. No Roads – Pevi Pouri, Haiti

There are so many good things you can do in this world when you are called to engage in humanitarian aid and relief work. Today I would like to share with you a story from Pevi Pouri, Haiti.  I was doing some research on trips to Haiti when I stumbled upon a medical mission trip.  Have you ever felt lack of experience or unqualified to do something GOD put in your heart?  I am not a medical professional yet in my desire to serve others I signed up.

Every trip that I have taken has been exploratory in hopes of establishing a more permanent affiliation to the outreach organizations we work with.  This trip was no exception as I had never spent the night in a tent on the side of a mountain. Missionaries are a target in Haiti, therefore, we had security guards with guns strapped to their side 24 hours a day.

In true Lulubelle style with fear of the unknown, lack of knowledge and no experience I found myself on a bus headed to base camp where we quickly hit traffic.  We drove right into a funeral procession.  Unlike the United States this funeral had no motorcycle cops directing traffic on the way to the cemetery.  There were hundreds of mourners blocking traffic to the main road and many angry drivers trying to get somewhere.  We would rest for the night at base camp before heading to the clinic high on the mountain in the morning.

It was always a dream of mine to go to Haiti and sacrifice my own daily comforts on every level to help the poor.  It seemed we made a road where there was no road as we drove up the mountain for hours.  We stayed on a mountain 7000 feet above elevation in little tents with no running water or electricity.  My tent was pitched on the side of a mountain and it rained one night.  At any moment it could have slid down the mountain with me in it.  The beautiful part was that I was not scared.  When God calls you to do something out of your comfort zone, he will equip you with courage beyond belief.

The team quickly found a place for me in the pharmacy the first day. Before the sun came up there were hundreds of Haitians who had walked for hours in the dark with no flashlight through the mountains to get to the clinic.  I was so inspired by this trip that I was up and ready when it was still dark.  At sunrise I witnessed hundreds of Haitians walking on their journey towards the clinic.  There were so many that they looked like ant’s, and many were carrying their sick family members.

Working in the pharmacy gave me the ability to monitor the amount of medicine we had transported up the hill and I prayed it would last throughout the clinic.  Going back to our home base was only for the ambulance who took the extremely critical patients to the local hospital.  The cruel reality is that this was the first doctor visit for a greater portion of these Haitians.  Many patients were gravely ill, but hopeful that medicine would cure them.

I watched as the medicine dwindled down to almost nothing.  I did not know how God was going to multiply the medicine we brought up the mountain with us.  We were a small group of volunteers working in this temporary medical clinic where we served over 3700 patients in 2 days.  We quickly began to run out of medicine and supplies.  How in God’s name was there going to be enough medicine for all the people that kept coming and traveling sometimes for a whole day just to get there.  I got my answer that day when it was suddenly discovered that we had additional boxes of some of the medicine we had run out of.  I realized that day that some things can only be learned through difficult situations.

There is no difficult and heartbreaking situation in life we cannot grow from if we just learn to respond in the right way with compassion.

Most of the people we have helped did not choose to live the way they do.  Your donation and compassion are providing hope for the future of this world.

HERE IS WHAT WE HAVE DONE (October 2018):
On a trip to Pevi Pouri, Haiti we had the opportunity to work alongside some Haitians who were once orphans.  They were now medical doctors and nurses.  They were helping with the medical clinic and were staying with us in tents alongside the mountain for the duration of the clinic.

I was told that these Haitian medical professionals had gone on to college because of the generous donations of people like you.  They had taken time off from work to come and volunteer.  It is stories like this where we get to organically experience where donations like yours are being used.  It is very impactful to see volunteers, who were once orphans, go on to change their destiny especially when they bring their skills back to the poor. The outreach organization we worked with on this trip has several orphanages and schools around Haiti.

HERE IS WHAT WE WILL DO
It is critical to the success of Lulubelle Cares that we are fulfilling our mission to feed and support the organizations we have worked with. Your generosity means so much to us, and we want to recognize you by showing the impact your gifts are making in Haiti.  You are going to change lives with your generous gifts.  We are saving lives that if gone unnoticed will perish from starvation, disease, or crime.

HERE ARE OUR GOALS FOR OUR MISSION TRIPS:

We Need You This Christmas Across the Border – Call to Action!

This Christmas we are praying for donations to provide 25-50 families with a Christmas they won’t forget.  Last year was our 1st Annual Adopting Families Project and it was a great success.  The families we select for this project are provided through our church partners in Tijuana.  After years of returning to this community it was discovered that there are many single moms who just can’t provide Christmas for their children.  Without your help these families are not able to celebrate Christmas. With your generous donations we can provide each family with Christmas Gifts & Christmas Dinner which is truly a miracle for these single mothers.  We will personally deliver the packages & Christmas Dinner to each of these families. Each family is assigned a number and we will take a picture of the family together with their gifts.

The cost of adopting a family is $150.  If you are unable to afford this amount any donation will be greatly appreciated.  It all goes to providing these single mothers & their children with a beautiful Christmas that they will never forget.

Many children who live in this community are being raised by a single mother while living in extreme poverty. Many are of these children are also denied the chance for an education.  It is our goal at Lulubelle Cares to provide school supplies for these children all year long as well as Christmas.

Will you give these children a second chance at celebrating Christmas and hope for a future by your generous donation?

If you are a lot like me, you won’t wait for others to do what God has called you to do.  Do something now!! We are passionately committed to providing as many single moms and their children with hope for Christmas.  We can’t do it without your help so please adopt a family today. Please respond to the link below and we will follow up with you promptly.

Burger and Fries for Friends

We have produced, served and successfully organized work projects for many years in the community of Las Carretas Canyon, Tijuana Mexico.  Members of this community have become friends, mentors and family.  It is our mission to go into these communities prepared with work projects, but we also feel that God moves when we leave room for the unknown.  We are never disappointed when we step into meeting a need spontaneously.  As a result, we were able to feed the Ramirez Family a surprise Burger King Lunch one afternoon.

With our warm happy meals in hand we knocked on a piece of plywood doubling as a front door.  To say we were surprised by their reaction is an understatement.  Tony Ramirez had been sick for a long time and it was clear to many of his friends that his time was limited.  We decided to treat him and his family to a Burger King lunch.  You need to know that Burger King is unaffordable for the people living in this community.

It is our goal with each mission to provide love, compassion and hope.  I want you to understand that our mission was accomplished that day when Tony flashed the biggest smile and I quote his words, “how did you know I wanted Burger King.”  This was news to me.  What you do to help others really matters to them.   Our goal is to facilitate opportunities to comfort the sick, dying and lonely.  Tony Ramirez would only live several months after our visit.  But I can tell you that even though he could no longer digest food properly, he enjoyed every bite of his meal that day. We fully trusted God and he came through for Tony Ramirez and his family.

Providing Clean Water in Mexico

I believe in a big way that this world needs life support through people who care for the poorest of the poor.  I have asked myself for years, “what am I going to do about it?”  Maybe you feel the same way?

There is so much need in other countries and domestically that honestly it hurts so bad I can’t sleep.  My destiny is tied to helping others and that is how God created me.

It is time to do something!  It is much easier to say words of apathy versus taking real action and doing something about all this unfairness, inequality and injustice.  Lulubelle Cares was established to provide humanitarian aid and relief through missions, projects and a deep desire to help.

In one of our past mission trips to Las Carretas Canyon in Tijuana Mexico we provided water for the thirsty.  Everything that you need in your life for survival is the same need for their survival.  Clean water is one of the most basic needs in this community.  Most of the homes do not have running water.  The needs in this community are so great!  There are no employment opportunities or programs to facilitate productive growth.  Children drop out of school at a young age.  Their parents cannot afford to send them to school.  Though the schools are free, supplies, uniforms and meals are not.

We are committed to providing basic needs like water.  It is our goal on each trip to do outreach like free water so we can learn how to provide change through various programs.   I want to see more kids going to school, graduating and finding a good job.

We strive to facilitate change in these communities.  We bring the love of God into their homes through acts of kindness just like Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

School Supplies to Empower Change

Our goals on each mission trip is to empower change.  It is also our goal to turn resources and funding into potential opportunities in the communities we serve.  Each mission trip is coordinated to provide support for the students with school supplies.

On one of the summer mission trips to Mexico we coordinated with our partners to provide school supplies for various communities.  We value opportunities to do outreach and our commitment is to support families through each project we select.  Our devotion to helping enabled us to donate school supplies to orphanages and families.

I have been blessed to see the smiles and gratitude that these families express.  If we can help just one family by providing school supplies, then that family doesn’t have to stay in that broken place anymore.  We can provide their children with school supplies, uniforms and hope for a brighter future.  It means they can go to school and possibly see a breakthrough.  People ask me all the time what can I do to help?  My response is to provide school supplies because they are needed year-round.

I don’t proclaim to be an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal and I am here to encourage you to help these communities.
