Impact a Life in Kolkata, India

Friends, have you ever given any thought to what your purpose is in life?  My next question is how far will you go to find your purpose in life?  Maybe you have thought about going to college or enrolling in a trade school.  The possibilities and options are so great that sometimes we have no idea how to pick our careers.

Maybe you are like me and God has called you to live a life well spent helping the poor. Have you ever gone to visit the poor in another country or just down the street? These days you will find many families living in poverty and homeless in your own neighborhood.

I do not know what you have been told about helping the poor. I hear people all the time say that you cannot save them.  Their own mental illness, addiction’s and choices have led them to living on the streets.  All of these are correct.  Humanitarian aid and relief is not about proving if we can change them forever.  In my experience helping the poor and homeless is about saving their lives.  I have seen the power of compassion change hearts.  Sometimes when we provide the poor and homeless with food and love that experience leads to hope.

It would be too difficult to write about all the homes, communities, and orphanages that I have visited around the world.  What I can tell you is that every place has one thing in common and they are all desperate for finding hope.

HERE IS WHAT WE DO:
Sometimes I like to imagine what I would do if I lived in their situation.  My compassion and desire to help the poor can overshadow their need for someone to hear their story.  Lulubelle Cares was established so that we could develop strategic plans on how to help the poor and you can help too.  It is our goal to help you experience from a distance what it feels like to help the poor.  It is not uncommon to hear someone say, “where does my donation go and how much of it is being used to ultimately help the poor.”  Lulubelle Cares was also established so that we could share the stories behind your donations.  I can tell you from experience that your donation does matter.

My friends, remember that those living in poverty especially in other countries do not have the luxury of wondering whether disease or hunger will take them first.  Every donated meal and all the assistance we provide through Lulubelle Cares is a matter of life or death to them.  Sure, you might be wondering if this is true and believe me it is. Most of the people we have helped did not choose to live the way they do.  Your donation and compassion are providing hope for the future of this world.

HERE IS WHAT WE HAVE DONE (June 2017):
On a trip to Kolkata India as a missionary we worked in the homes of Mother Teresa’s Missionary of Charity.  We also worked doing community outreach and made home visits to the poor.

On this one occasion we brought food, friendship and a tarp to a woman living on the streets with her children.  I found out quickly that living on the streets of Kolkata was not uncommon.  You immediately find yourself trying not to step on anyone laying on the sidewalk asleep.  Honestly, we have more power than we think to help heal and encourage the lives of the poor. Our gifts and compassion are crucial.  This is also about changing hearts and lives. Our small offering of food and a tarp meant that they did not have to go beg for food that day. The tarp would help prevent damage to their belongings from the elements.  Our goal that day was to provide one act of kindness that would result in a plan for finding a more permanent home and an answer to their homelessness.

HERE IS WHAT WE WILL DO:
On our next trip to Kolkata India we will explore strategic plans how Lulubelle Cares can help the missionaries living in India feed the poor living on the streets.  These small acts of kindness that Mother Teresa did everyday serve to provide love, hope and compassion to the poor and that is our goal. I realized after going to India and working with the Missionaries of Charity that this act of charity is not about taking them off the streets permanently.  We are saving lives that if gone unnoticed will perish from starvation, disease or crime.

HERE ARE OUR GOALS FOR OUR MISSION TRIPS:
Each trip has a different goal, but the mission is the same, to save starving children and their families.  We aim to save as many lives as possible from starvation and disease.  We aim to partner with local outreach organizations to provide solutions for helping the poor and advance the opportunities for the future generations to find hope.

PLEASE DONATE TO LULUBELLE CARES TODAY:
I am asking for something so big and I am believing that this world will not let another child die of starvation.  Let us show these children we can help and motivate them to follow their dreams.  Show them that the world has not given up on them.  You can help a child survive starvation.  Will you be a miracle and show a starving child that all things are possible:  donate to LulubelleCares.org
